BID for Christy Recreation Center, Phase 1 Renovations

The project consists of a renovation of the Christy Recreation Center. This is Phase 1 of a two phased renovation project. The renovation will make significant modifications to the site surrounding the building, upgrade the building entrance area, and replace existing windows. The work consists of, but is not limited to: selective demolition; concrete work; landscape planting, grading, and paving; playground equipment; interior partition modifications; interior and exterior painting; doors, frames, and hardware; storefront, windows and glazing; resilient flooring; lighting and electrical work; HVAC work; and plumbing work.

Overall work includes installation and maintenance of soil erosion and sediment control measures, demolition and removal of all existing site structures including but not limited to all fencing, gates and playground equipment, as noted on the drawings, removal of existing sidewalks, pavers, pavement, fences, benches, curbs, etc. as noted on contract documents and as required to complete the project, removal/abandonment of existing above-ground and underground utilities and associated structures, backfill of removed underground utilities, backfill to grade with compacted suitable on-site soils, removal from site and disposal of all excess and unusable material, removal of trees and plant material as noted on the drawings.

RFQ Project Construction Management Services Various City Projects

The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (herein, the “PRA”), as agent for the City of Philadelphia (herein, the “City”), seeks Qualifications/Proposals from Project Construction Management Firms with a demonstrated history of successful completion of large-scale, local projects. The selected project construction management firm (hereafter the “Consultant”) will provide services to PRA with respect to
construction projects at City-owned Recreation Centers, Playgrounds, Parks and Libraries. The PRA, as agent for the City, currently manages numerous public bid projects for the City at various costs. The PRA, with help from the City, will continue to prepare, advertise, select, and contract with the contractors (each, a “Project Contractor”) for these projects. The work covers the demolition and renovation of West Oak Lane Library Roof located at 2000 E. Washington Lane. Demolition includes removal of existing roofing to lightweight concrete fill. Repairs to be made to fill if needed. Roofing includes installation of roof insulation, blocking at roof edge and curbs, new metal fascia and counter flashings, and mutli-ply modified bitumen system. Roof drains to be replaced and install safety rail system around roof hatch.

Although the PRA still exists and operates to achieve its statutory purpose, its work is carried out by the staff of PHDC. Although the PRA is the City’s agent for this RFP, the RFP is being posted on PHDC’s website.
