COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The City of Philadelphia is helping renters stay in their homes by offering emergency rental assistance to renters who have lost income due to COVID-19. Assistance helps landlords too. Phase 2 is accepting applications through September 30, 2020. As of September 16, 2020, assistance is up to $1,500 per month per household.

Philly First Home

is no longer accepting new potential homeowners into the program. Homebuyers with an agreement of sale dated August 26, 2020 or earlier will be able to complete the process and have funding applied to the purchase of the home at closing.

Land

PHDC is accepting applications to buy land and responses to competitive sales and Requests for Proposals. However, while PHDC, the City and the other Land Agencies are closed, all deadlines for the submission, review and approval of certain land documents and applications are tolled as outlined in the attached Memorandum. As provided in the Memorandum, among other things:

  • Certain land disposition documents may be submitted, but they will be reviewed by the applicable Land Agency as and when time permits.
  • Expiring individual garden agreements are automatically extended for twelve (12) months.
  • Competitive sale submissions will be addressed on a case-by-case basis and applicants should review the applicable bid request on the PHDC website for further direction.

More specific information is available in a Memorandum issued by PHDC and on the various Land pages of this website.
