Façade Improvement Program

The City of Philadelphia wants to preserve Philadelphia’s history with care. Many of Philadelphia’s neighborhoods are out-of-date and in need of major repairs. The Façade Improvement Program may be able to help!

The Façade Improvement Program preserves neighborhood character, reduces blight, and improves residential properties through strategic exterior improvements to residential façades.

The Façade Improvement Program provides one-time funding for the following services:

• Address deteriorating housing conditions before further deterioration results in severe enforcement actions
• Improve and weatherize building envelopes
• Enhance curb appeal and neighborhood cohesion

Homeowners with existing citations from the City’s Licenses and Inspections Department (L&I) may be eligible. If the homeowners and the citations meet the program requirements, they will receive a letter from PHDC. This program does not accept direct applications.
